So I've just finished a BIG fanart commission project. I managed to get really good momentum in the beginning, but it got pretty challenging by the mid-point. (and in typical Penny-fashion I definitely made some things more complicated than they needed to be). All in all, it was a success!
But now it's done.. and now I face a returning challenge: when I actually FINISH something... starting the NEXT thing is always hard. Each time it happens, the conditions which make it hard are different. Because of this its not easy to identify why, and find a solution. Sometimes it's hard cuz of "the day job" or "real life (TM)". Sometimes it's hard cuz of burnout (thankfully that's not happened this time). Sometimes it's hard cuz I've been so FOCUSED on the last project, I can't get into the headspace of the NEXT project. Also, if I just decide to "take it easy!" "don't be so hard on yourself!" "take some time off!" then I always LOSE MOMENTUM. and it's so hard to build that momentum back up.
SO for the moment, I'm just walking along, gonna try to keep artistically busy, and find traction on whatever the next thing is!
Wish me luck!
